The Board of Directors of the Medicare Group(Q.S.C.) met on Monday, February 24, 2025, after the Qatar Stock Exchange trading session, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani – Chairman of the Board; they discussed the financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2024, along with the independent external auditor’s report, and approved them

The Board announced that the company’s net profits from the beginning of the year until the end of 2024 reached QR60,056,920; this reflected positively on the earnings per share, which amounted to QR0.21 per share. Based on this, the Board discussed raising a recommendation to the General Assembly, which will be held, God willing, in April 2025, to distribute dividends of 19.80% in cash from the nominal value of the share, equivalent to QR0.198 per share

It is noteworthy that the net profit from continuing operations (excluding the impact of closing the Al-Wakrah branch) reached QR94,152,828 compared to QR76,231,007 last year, reflecting a growth of 23.5%, indicating a significant improvement in performance during the period. These profits were achieved despite the company incurring losses due to the suspension of services and the closure of the Al-Wakrah Clinics and Emergency Unit; this led to a positive improvement in performance over the year, as we managed to compensate for most of the losses incurred from the branch closure by the end of the year

  1. E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Thani Bin Abdullah Al-Thani – Chairman of the Board, stated that this growth represents an unprecedented achievement thanks to the efforts of the Board of Directors, the executive management, and all employees. The company’s strategy played a vital role in achieving this performance in terms of increasing capacity and the capability of the Al-Ahli Hospital regarding facilities and medical staff, updating equipment, and developing services both vertically and horizontally in terms of quantity and quality. Moreover, launching new competitive marketing packages in light of the ongoing changes in the service provider market and, on the other hand, reducing expenses and diversifying supply sources for Al-Ahli Hospital

Throughout 2024, Al-Ahli Hospital continued to gain the trust of Guests, which was confirmed by the significant indicator of the stability, diversity, and expansion of the hospital’s services, reflected in the increase in the number of Guests and the medical services provided to visitors, whether in outpatient clinics or as inpatients

Mr. Khalid Al-Emadi, CEO of the Medicare Group(Q.S.C.), added that the company intends to continue implementing strategic plans for expansion and growth in 2025, targeting a wider segment of Guests. We also plan to coordinate with medical tourism offices from some countries that have shown interest in Qatar as a medical tourism destination, especially with Al-Ahli Hospital’s facilities and services in light of the nature of expansion projects that support initiatives for exchanging medical services

On another note, Mr. Jamal Hammad, Deputy CEO of Al-Ahli Hospital and Medicare Group(Q.S.C.), mentioned that the company will undertake the redistribution and allocation of certain clinics this year, following the completion and delivery of some projects that were underway. A new tender for the second phase of expanding the emergency department and the women’s clinic is also expected to be launched

It is worth mentioning that Al-Ahli Hospital also launched last year the first initiative of its kind in the private healthcare sector across the Middle East; namely, the Al-Ahli Hospital Award for Arab Pioneers in Medicine, in recognition and appreciation of Arab medical figures who have significantly contributed to the development of medical services and made noble efforts to protect humanity throughout their professional and practical lives. This initiative, in its first edition, positioned Al-Ahli Hospital as the first private institution to grant such an award, receiving numerous interests from various countries and individuals, with extensive coverage from various magazines and social media platforms
